India to re-start B2B exhibitions in some areas
India, 5th October: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that the organisation of B2B exhibitions will be allowed re-start as of 15th October, after a hiatus of six months. The Ministry of Commerce has been requested to suggest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for organising safe exhibitions.
However, lockdown restrictions in India will still apply to the COIVD-19 containment zones. Event organising will only be permitted outside the containment zones. As of 30th September, India had reported more than six million confirmed COVID-19 cases, with more than 80,000 new cases each day. On the positive side, according to media reports, the recovery rates in India remain one of the highest in the world.
