Baidu’s revenues up 25% in Q1
Beijing, 18th May: Earlier this week, Baidu, the leading Chinese language Internet search company, announced its financial results for the quarter ended 31st March 2021. Total revenues in the quarter were US$4.3 billion, which is an increase of 25% year-on-year. Net income in the quarter was US$3.9 billion, compared with a profit of just US$5.8 million in the first quarter of 2020.
More than 64% of its total revenues were generated from Baidu’s online marketing services, amounting to US$2.8 billion. That figure grew 27% year-on-year. While all others revenues increased by 21% to US$1.5 billion. According to the company, the increase in other revenues was mainly driven by its cloud and AI services.
