Alibaba signs MoU with government in Malaysia and Hangzhou

Hangzhou, 12th May: Earlier this month, Alibaba Group, the leading e-commerce company in China, announced it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysia’s digital economy development agency, and the Hangzhou Municipal Government. The three parties will connect the first e-hubs in the two countries under the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP).

Separately, Alibaba Cloud, the Alibaba Group’s cloud computing arm, announced plans to establish a data center in Malaysia later this year. This will be the first global public cloud platform in Malaysia.
