Myanmar’s new exhibition association seeks venue investors

Myanmar, 12th September: President of the newly-formed Myanmar Exhibition and Conference Association (MECA), Myo Thant, highlighted this week the need of venue infrastructure investment in Yangon.

According to MECA, the largest venue in Yangon is a 4,500 m2 tented facility. In order to help the exhibition industry to grow, Thant called for more venue capacity. A new foreign investment law is currently being drafted and MECA maintains that this will help to gain support from foreign investors interested in developing new venues in Myanmar. MECA currently has 40 members, but the association plans to expand its membership.
