HKECIA survey: Positive trends for Hong Kong

Hong Kong, 27th September: Earlier this week, the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) released the results of its annual exhibition survey. A total of 83 exhibition organisers responded including both “trade” and “trade and consumer” event organisers. To quality, the organisers must have hosted an event with a minimum size 2,000 m2 held during the previous year.

According to the survey, the total number of companies exhibiting at events in Hong Kong during 2016 was 68,544 – which represents a 2.3% year-on-year increase. Companies based in Mainland China recorded strong growth – up 12%. In terms of visitors, the total number exceeded 2.2 million which is in-line with the previous year. Visitors from Mainland China, however, increased by nearly 3%.
