Penang’s MICE sector reportedly grows 31%

Penang, 26th March: Recently, the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) released its annual review for the year 2018. According to the bureau, the business events sector in Penang recorded an estimated economic impact of RM1.3 billion (US$322.7 million), representing an increase of 31% over the 2017 figures.

According to PCEB, the number of room nights sold recorded significant growth (285%), largely due to the increase in the number of business events delegates and the duration of events held in the state.
