Thailand records 8 million Q1 MICE visitors

Thailand, 20th May: Earlier this week, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) announced that it hosted more than eight million MICE travellers in the first quarter of 2019. They generated revenues of over Baht 54 billion (US$1.7 billion) in the first quarter – that represents an increase of 6.3% year-on-year.

A total of 353,256 international MICE travellers generated revenues of Baht 26.7 billion (US$839 million), while 7.75 million domestic MICE travellers generated Baht 28 billion (US$880 million) in the quarter. According to TCEB, the top five international MICE visitors in the quarter were from: China (122,426), India (40,492), Japan (30,038), Hong Kong (26,021) and Indonesia (21,202).
