Indonesia’s government allocates funds to boost tourism

India, 27th February: The Indonesia government has announced a special budget allocation of 298.5 billion rupiah (US$21.5 million) to help support its tourism business in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Incentives available for airlines and tour operators will be 98.5 billion rupiah (US$7.1 million) which will be aimed at offering special discounts for foreign tourists. Promotional activities will be subsidized for up to 103 billion rupiah (US$7.4 million). Improvement of tourist facilities (kiosks, etc.) will receive 25 billion rupiah (US$1.8 million). Finally, another 72 billion rupiah (US$5.2 million) will be invested with “tourism influencers.”
