Japan to provide financial support for venues and organisers

Japan, 23rd February: The Japanese government has unveiled a new programme designed to provide up to ¥25 million (US$240,000) for venues and organisers cancelling or postpone events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 11 prefectures have been authorised to consider claims under the current COVID state of emergency. The government financial support can also be used to cover the rehearsal and promotion costs incurred by cancelled events.
