Economic impact of events in Melbourne up 25%

Melbourne, 21st August: The Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) reports that there was an estimated 25% increase in economic impact from business events in the financial year 2017-2018. Business events in Melbourne generated revenues of A$396 million (US$291 million) from 176 events. The number of first-time visitors was the highest in the past seven years – including over 79,000 new visitors.

CCID’s revenues up 25% in first half

Beijing, 2nd August: CCID Consulting, an IT research and information service provider in China, posted revenue growth of 25% in the first half of 2018 amounting to US$9.3 million. Profit in the six-month period was US$317,000, compared with a loss of US$1.3 million recorded in the same period in 2017. Earnings per share in the period were RMB 0.0035 (US$0.0005).

Sino Splendid reduces loss in first half

Hong Kong, 8th August: Hong Kong-listed Sino Splendid (formerly China.com) has recently released its results for the six-month period ended 30th June 2018. Revenues in the first half were US$5.3 million, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%. The company attributed the slight decline to weaker performance from its Travel Media Business and Financial Magazine Business. The company reduced its loss to US$1.9 million compared with a loss of US$22 million in the same period in 2017.

BOL’s revenues up 14% in Q2

Bangkok, 6th August: Earlier this week, Business Online (BOL), a leading online information service provider in Thailand, reported its financial results for the quarter ended 30th June 2018. Revenues in the quarter grew 14%, reaching US$3.7 million. The company posted net income of US$945,000, an increase of 12% year-on-year. The company attributed the increase in revenues to the strong performance of its information services business as well as revenues from special one-off projects.
