MCEC generates nearly US$530m in FY2019/20

Melbourne, 14th December: The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) created more than A$740 million (US$530 million) in economic impact for the state of Victoria in the 2019/20 financial year. This figure is down from the more than A$1.1 billion (US$839 million) recorded in the previous year.

During the recent year, MCEC hosted over 800 events, featuring the participation of 715,000 attendees, and generating A$79 million (US$60 million) in operating revenues. A total of 251 events, scheduled to be held between February and June, were cancelled due to COVID-19 related restrictions. However, MCEC still welcomed more than 1.7 million visitors during the financial year.
