Hong Kong confirms plan for additional venue capacity

Hong Kong, 14th December: This is the latest update in the long running story of venue capacity in Hong Kong. In its latest Policy Address, the Hong Kong government reconfirmed its plans to expand the event space capacity in the city.

The Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) supported the reconfirmation of the plan to redevelop three government buildings across the street from the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) converting the properties into additional convention and exhibition facilities, a hotel and commercial office space.

In addition, the Hong Kong Airport Authority has also maintained its long-standing plan to invest in the construction of phase two of the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) venue which is located next to the Hong Kong airport. The completion dates for both projects have not been confirmed.
