Koelnmesse posts loss in FY2020

Cologne, 9th February: Koelnmesse, a large German international exhibition organiser, released its result for the financial year 2020. The company generated revenues of about €95 million (US$117 million) in the year and it incurred a loss of €115 million (US$141 million).

According to the company, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, “no own” events (i.e. those events owned and organised by Koelnmesse) have been organised on the trade fair grounds in Cologne since March 2020. In total, 54 of its planned 70 trade fairs were cancelled or postponed in 2020.
